I am pleased to report that date night was successful. We went to the movies and then dinner afterward as planned. Date night started out great with about 45 minutes of some good ole’ fashion arcade games at the theater. We had time to kill before the movie started so we played two games of [...]

Obi-Wan noticed on his way to work yesterday that his wedding ring was broken. Too confusing to describe but it’s broken. His poor ring has weathered a lot over the years. He never takes it off and so it’s on for every man/construction project, plus, years ago, Yellow Dog left her mark on it too. [...]

This is only one of many many reasons why I love Obi-Wan. He left to go out of town for a few days and when I came home, I found little notes to me around the house. Just little sweet nothings that mean a ton b/c he took the time to write these notes so [...]

This weekend, Obi-Wan and I worked in the yard. The lawn desperately needed mowing and our front flower bed (aka the “weed garden”
needed to be tidied up considerably. The weather Saturday morning was absolutely perfect so after a vigorous workout at the gym (oh the pain), he showed me how to operate the new [...]

A countdown has commenced … of sorts. I’m still only thinking in terms of weeks, not days. But today when I woke up it hit me - exactly 28 days from now, Obi-Wan and I will be waking up together. His tentative return date is March 14. As far as we both know, he’ll be [...]

My mom sent me this link to a military support operation in Maryland. It’s called Operation Welcome Home - Maryland. I had heard about what they were doing but didn’t know there was a website and such a coordinated effort to welcome home the troops. You can read more about it on the website. As [...]

I just finished working out at the gym and those endorphins are releasing like crazy. I’m wired and it’s 9:00 pm. I was going to hit the gym this morning but I loathe getting up early, especially before 5 to get to the gym by 5 am. And I do mean loathe. I’m not a [...]

I officially started doing the Body for Life program on Monday, January 21. I’ve sort of followed the mantra of it for years since Obi-Wan and I lived in California. And it worked great. I lost 8 pounds in 3 months, which pleased me. Another 12 pounds would have been wonderful but he came home from [...]

I talked to Obi-Wan this morning and he mentioned that he would be shipping a box of stuff home to me this week. Yippee! It’s a sign that he’s coming home. I won’t be sending him packages unless there is something specific he needs that he can’t find. And he’ll be starting to ship things [...]

This March, Obi-Wan and I will have been together 10 years. We’ve been married for 8 now and, in fact, were lucky to celebrate our 8th anniversary in Italy. But we started dating in March of 1998. I was just thinking yesterday about the fact that I had known him that long. It amazed me [...]
