Willpower

Posted on October 31, 2008. Filed under: Mindless drivel |

I just have no willpower at all sometimes!  Our office administrator is making rounds this afternoon with a cart of Halloween cookies and other goodies and just wheeled said cart into my office.  They weren’t as pretty as these fancy cookies but tasty looking nonetheless.

What’s a girl to do?  Of course, I could have just said no, but [...]

Our first deployment

WARNING – CRAZY LONG POST
Being that Obi-Wan is home right now, there isn’t much drama or otherwise to blog about Navy life.  Nothing scandalous or snarkalicious is happening to vent about – things are just rolling along as he finishes his shore duty over the next few months.  I was looking back at my older posts [...]

Help is here

Posted on October 28, 2008. Filed under: Deep Thoughts |

When I found out from my mom about our friend who had passed away, I immediately told her to tell his wife to call me if she needed anything or to just talk.  I know there isn’t much I can say to make her feel better but what I hope to offer her is strength [...]

Bringing out the Pee

Posted on October 27, 2008. Filed under: Husband, Mindless drivel |

I know  – odd post title.  It started out as a joke but I think it’s more of a cause and effect situation now.  You see, it seems that almost every time I call Obi-Wan or he calls me, he has to abruptly get off the phone and go to the restroom.  Many times when [...]

Tough weekend

Posted on October 26, 2008. Filed under: Deep Thoughts |

Last night my family and I attended a viewing/wake for our friend who passed away this week.  I haven’t felt pain like that in a long long long time.  Looking into the eyes of his wife and daughters, I could almost feel my heart ripped out and I was only feeling one tenth of the [...]

I suddenly feel old

Posted on October 23, 2008. Filed under: Deep Thoughts, Memories, Poop happens |

Within the next few days my family and I will be attending the funeral of a very dear friend of ours.  This man was the same age as my parents, and him and his wife have been friends with my parents for 37 years.  They have two daughters fairly close in age to my sister [...]

Great idea

Posted on October 17, 2008. Filed under: Complaints/Gripes/Whines, Current events/news |

Just read this story on CNN.  Campbell Brown hit the nail on the head with this idea in my opinion.  So much money is wasted in campaigns as far as I’m concerned and I’d much rather see it spent on something worthwhile.

Little mices

Posted on October 17, 2008. Filed under: Mindless drivel |

There’s a mouse in my house.  Obi-Wan discovered said little creature in the garage the other day but couldn’t catch it.  He promptly went out and bought some traps and we were hoping to contain it in the garage.  That plan did not work out so well.  This morning, Obi-Wan saw the little beast in [...]

Weekend festivities

Posted on October 16, 2008. Filed under: Exercise, Inspiration |

This weekend will be quite busy in the Salty house.  Saturday,  Obi-Wan and I, along with other friends, are running a 5K in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Virginia Beach.  Last night, while having drinks with some friends, we met a young woman (25 years old) who was just diagnosed with [...]

Coffee in bed

Posted on October 14, 2008. Filed under: Husband, Mindless drivel |

I love Obi-Wan, I really really do.  He got up before me this morning even though he was off today and after taking care of the paws, he brewed me coffee and brought me a cup while I was still procrastinating getting out of bed.  God bless him!  I love all things caffeinated and coffee [...]
