A case of the Mondays
I loathe Mondays because it’s the start of another week of getting up early and I’d rather sleep in. I love sleep in ways that can’t be explained and usually on Sunday nights, I never manage to get a decent night’s rest. My mind is usually turned on and it’s hard to get the wheels to stop so I can rest.
Last night I was doing pretty well. I popped a Tylenol PM b/c honestly I have a really hard time falling asleep on Sunday nights so I’ve starting taking just one to relax myself enough to fall asleep. I don’t do it every Sunday but I do take one lots of Sundays. I was so happy b/c I was asleep by 10 pm thinking “woo hoo, I might actually be rested enough to get up and work out before work tomorrow morning.” Yeah, that didn’t quite happen.
I woke up at 4:15 to thunder, lightening, gale force winds and sideways chubby rain. It was so noisy I couldn’t fall back to sleep. And then I got nervous b/c it sounded so crazy outside that maybe a bad weather event was about to happen like a tornado. So I turned the tv on and of course the satellite is out.
Then I got on the Internet and sure enough, hellfire and damnation weather is hitting my area and we’re under a tornado watch. I’m like “great, just what I need.” So now I’m wide awake and semi-nervous. The satellite eventually came back on and just in time for me to see lots of green, yellow and red nasty blobs on the radar. Luckily they weren’t purple b/c that would have meant the wrath of Christ was about to strike and I wasn’t ready for that with the paws.
It finally subsided after 6 and I just said I don’t care, I’m going to sleep and I’ll get to work when I’m ready. I wasn’t about to go to work and try and stay awake in a job where I sit all day long on a mere 6 hours of sleep.
To top off the morning, the paws needed to go out and go potty in the midst of said hellfire and damnation weather. And of course, I needed to check my fence to make sure the gale force winds hadn’t blown it down again. So there I am in my pjs with a coat on going outside to check the fence in all this weather at 5:30 this morning. Sooooooo not what I wanted to be doing at that hour.
I let them out and of course they take what seemed an eternity to do their puppy business before they came back in. Of course, then came my favorite part, drying them off. I might as well have tossed some soap on them and bathed them given how soaked they were. Ugh!
Alright, enough whining for the day. Happy Monday everyone.
