Beginnings

Posted on August 25, 2007. Filed under: First post |

Welcome to my blog!  Being that this is my first ever blog post, I’m almost not certain where I should begin.  I’m suddenly suffering a bit of writer’s block after having thoughts in my head for days about what I would write.  Let’s go with a little background on me and the DH (“dear husband” to me, but DH can stand for many things in the blogosphere).  I work in the legal field but I’m not a lawyer and my husband is a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO).  We have two dogs (we’ll call them “baby dog” and “baby paw” since one is still a puppy technically and they are the center of our universe, so to speak.  Since we do not have kids right now, these dogs are living the high life and getting spoiled rotten.

My DH is currently about 5 months into a 13 month deployment and that is where I’ll begin the blogging journey.

By blogging my experiences, I hope that other military spouses find some element that they can relate to and I hope that my friends and family will understand a bit more about what’s going through my mind on a day to day basis.  It’s difficult to stay in touch as often as we like with everyone in our lives and perhaps this blog will fill in the gaps.  Some of my friends have asked me in the past about what it’s like being a military spouse and it’s hard to explain but I’m hoping they will gain some insight by reading this blog.

With that said, let’s pull up the anchor and get underway. (Honestly I have no idea if that’s what they really say on the bridge of a ship to get underway but that’s what I’m going with here).  :)
